The Doosan Bears extended their winning streak to three games, powered by an offense that racked up 13 hits.
Doosan secured an 8-3 victory over the LG Twins in their home game of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League regular season held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul today (August 2).
With this win, Doosan clinched a winning series against the LG Twins for the first time this season.
After being limited to just 6 and 3 hits in their previous two games respectively, Doosan erupted for 13 hits in this match.
Kim Dae-han, who started as the leadoff hitter for the first time this season, delivered an impressive performance with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored, and 1 strikeout.
Starting pitcher Wes Benjamin picked up his 5th win of the season (7 losses), pitching 6 innings while allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, and striking out 8 batters, recording his 10th quality start of the season (pitching at least 6 innings with 3 or fewer earned runs).
Living up to the intensity of the Jamsil Derby, the game featured multiple lead changes and turnarounds.
Doosan seized an opportunity in the bottom of the first with back-to-back hits by Kim Dae-han and Oh Myung-jin to put runners on first and third with no outs, and took the opening point with Kim Min-seok's RBI double after two outs.
In the bottom of the second, with two outs and a runner on second, Kim Dae-han hit an RBI single to right field, extending the lead to 2-0.
However, in the top of the third with a runner on first and no outs, starting pitcher Benjamin surrendered a two-run homer to left field to Lee Ju-heon, allowing LG to tie the game at 2-2.
After giving up another run in the top of the fourth, Doosan reclaimed momentum by creating a big inning with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
With runners on first and second with no outs, Cho Su-haeng and Park Chan-ho hit consecutive doubles to combine for 3 runs, and with two outs and a runner on second, Park Jun-soon drove in an RBI single to left field to make it 6-3.
In the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings, Doosan manufactured a run each utilizing swift base running.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jung Soo-bin, who had suffered disappointment the previous day after being called out on the three-foot line rule in the bottom of the 11th inning, scored through aggressive base running.
Inserted as a pinch runner for Yang Eui-ji, who hit a single to left-center after one out, Jung advanced to second base on Kim Min-seok's single to right field.
As LG first baseman Austin Dean fielded An Jae-seok's grounder and stepped on the base to retire the batter-runner, Jung rounded third and sprinted home to make it 7-3.
In the bottom of the eighth with one out, Park Chan-ho, who got on base via a walk, successfully stole both second and third base consecutively during the subsequent at-bat by Kim Dae-han.
Park then crossed home plate on Kim Dae-han's sacrifice fly to right field, widening the gap to 8-3.
Park Chi-guk, who took the mound in the top of the ninth, gave up two hits but shut out the inning without allowing a run to close out the game.
