The pre-arrest warrant re-applied by police for the former head of the detective division at the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station, who led the 'Jang Yoon-ki case' on the front lines, has been dismissed once again.
Jeong Gyo-hyung, the senior judge in charge of warrants at the Gwangju District Court, held a pre-arrest interrogation yesterday (July 31) for Superintendent A of the Gwangju Provincial Police Agency, who faces charges of abuse of power and dereliction of duty, and dismissed the warrant requested by the special investigation team of the National Police Agency tasked with uncovering the truth of the 'Jang Yoon-ki case'.
Judge Jeong stated the reason for the dismissal, explaining that "even when comprehensively reviewing the additional evidence secured since the previous dismissal of the arrest warrant, there remains room for dispute regarding the criminal charges, and it is difficult to recognize the necessity and reasonableness of detaining the suspect at this stage."
