The operational style of Fountain of Inspiration, the independent agency established by the duo AKMU (Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Suhyun) after leaving YG Entertainment following 12 years, has been revealed.
A video titled "A Day in the Life of AKMU's Suhyun" was released on Kian84's YouTube channel on July 30. The video features Kian84 visiting the office of Fountain of Inspiration in person and receiving a tour from Lee Suhyun.
Lee Suhyun shared, "We use the basement and second floor of the building, and including my brother and me, there are 10 employees." Half of the employees are reportedly former YG Entertainment staff who joined through job transitions.
The office interior was bohemian in its purest form. Instead of individual partitions or separate rooms, AKMU divided the space with curtains and shared a single table. Introducing her desk, Lee Suhyun also revealed a special hobby, saying, "What I do here is touch squishies or give squishies as gifts to people."
Lee Chan-hyuk's desk was separately referred to as the "Fountain Head" desk. Regarding the work system, Suhyun stated, "We have a 4-day workweek, and we have designated every Tuesday as workout day, doing about an hour and a half of group exercise together." In addition, Lee Suhyun is called "Princess" within the company. Employees are called by their surnames followed by "Younggam" (inspiration), such as "Employee Son Younggam," "Employee Kim Younggam," "Employee Noh Younggam," "Employee Go Younggam," and "Employee Hwang Younggam."
The company name Fountain of Inspiration was first revealed last April through tvN's You Quiz on the Block. At the time, Lee Chan-hyuk explained, "Ever since our pre-debut auditions, we were asked 'Where do you get your inspiration from?' so many times that we decided to name the place where we are the Fountain of Inspiration." He also drew attention by assessing the welfare level compared to his previous workplace as being "good enough to bet one's life on after working for about two months."
The siblings Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Suhyun debuted through YG Entertainment in 2014 and promoted there for 12 years before setting up an independent agency following the expiration of their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment last December.
