Police have launched an investigation after an employee at a food ingredient company filed a complaint claiming that they were injured after falling from a forklift due to the company CEO's pranks.
According to the Gimpo Police Station in Gyeonggi Province on June 30, A, an employee in their 40s working at a food ingredient company in Gimpo, filed a complaint late last month asking for the punishment of company representative B, a person in their 50s, on charges of injury.
According to the complaint, A claimed, "While working on a forklift to place items on a high shelf early last month, I told B not to shake it because I have a fear of heights, but B continued to shake the forklift as a joke, causing me to fall 5 meters down."
At the time, A fell toward stacked boxes nearby before hitting the ground and briefly losing consciousness. It was found that B was operating the forklift at the time.
However, B reportedly claimed during police questioning that "an accident occurred during work, rather than as a joke."
A is known to have quit the job due to aftereffects from the accident.
Police plan to forward B to the prosecution after conducting additional investigations, including witness testimonies.
An author claiming to be A's older sibling recently posted an internal closed-circuit (CC) TV video capturing the fall on an online community, titled, "Isn't this attempted murder?"
