Gyeonggi Osan Police Station announced today (July 30) that it plans to seek an arrest warrant for a man in his 60s, identified as A, on charges of wielding a weapon at a partner factory and causing two casualties.
A is suspected of stabbing and killing or severely injuring two individuals—a factory owner in his 60s, identified as B, and B's acquaintance in his 70s, identified as C—at a machinery manufacturing factory in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6:20 p.m. on the 20th.
According to reports, A had waited while carrying a weapon and attacked B and others as they got out of a vehicle.
C was transferred to a hospital in a state of cardiac arrest and later died, while B sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
A ingested poison immediately after the crime, recovered, and was arrested by police yesterday afternoon.
Police found that A stated during questioning that he had a 10-year business relationship with B.
Police believe that C was stabbed and killed while attempting to stop A.
A police official explained, "The suspect has not yet fully recovered and is incoherent," adding, "We are investigating the specific motive for the crime."
