Hanwha Eagles pitcher Kim Seo-hyun recently went on a training stint in Japan to regain his pitching control.
Today (the 29th), he made his first appearance in a minor league game, pitching one scoreless inning.
Kim, who spent the past two weeks training at a pitching academy in Chiba, Japan—known for helping many pitchers improve their skills, such as Lotte's Kim Jin-wook and KIA's Lee Eui-lee—made his first live-game appearance in the Futures League today.
After inducing a flyout from the first batter, his control wavered against the second batter, resulting in a walk. However, he struck out the final batter swinging and caught a runner stealing at first base to successfully complete his outing.
His fastball reached a top speed of 149 km/h.
[Kim Seo-hyun / Pitcher, Hanwha Eagles: Without many pitches missing wide, my sliders and fastballs generally went where I wanted them to, so I am somewhat satisfied with the results I produced today.]
