Actor Kim Soo-hyun has been cleared of allegations regarding violations of the Child Welfare Act in connection with the late Kim Sae-ron.
The Seongdong Police Station, which investigated the case, recently made a decision not to send the Child Welfare Act violation allegations against Kim Soo-hyun to the prosecutors.
Previously, the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron and Kim Se-ui, the representative of Hover Lab, claimed that the deceased had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun when she was a minor, and filed a complaint with the police against Kim Soo-hyun in May of last year for violating the Child Welfare Act and other charges.
At the time, Kim Se-ui held a press conference alongside attorney Boo Ji-seok and released an audio file claiming it was a recording of the late Kim Sae-ron's living voice. The recording contained claims that she began dating Kim Soo-hyun and had sexual relations with him since the second year of middle school.
However, this recording was concluded to have been forged. The Seoul Gangnam Police Station stated in its request for an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui submitted to the prosecution that the KakaoTalk chat logs and the audio file of the deceased presented by Kim Se-ui at the press conference as evidence of the two people's relationship were concluded to be forged.
