Police have referred a man in his 90s to the prosecution under detention on charges of strangling and killing his wife.
According to the Seoul Gwangjin Police Station on the 29th, the suspect, A, is accused of murder for strangling his wife, B, a woman in her 80s, to death at an apartment in Gwangjin-gu at around 10:30 a.m. on the 21st.
Immediately after the crime, A called another family member and confessed to what he had done.
The family member immediately reported the incident to the police, and A was apprehended in an emergency arrest.
B was transported to a hospital right after the crime but ultimately passed away.
Consequently, the police changed A's charges from attempted murder to murder and forwarded him to the Seoul Dongbu District Prosecutors' Office the previous day.
A reportedly told police that he committed the act during an argument after suspecting that his wife was having an affair.
