SK Hynix announced today (July 29) regarding the production status of its sixth-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), HBM4, stating, "Mass production yields and quality are showing levels close to those of the previous-generation HBM3E products, which have entered a mature stage."
During its second-quarter earnings conference call, SK Hynix made the remarks, explaining, "We began mass production and supply of HBM4 to major customers in the second quarter, and we are currently stably expanding our production capacity (ramp-up)."
The company also shared that sample supplies of HBM4E to customers have been completed, and development is proceeding smoothly according to the scheduled timeline, with full-scale mass production targeted for next year.
Regarding the progress of next year's HBM price negotiations, SK Hynix stated, "It is difficult to disclose specific prices and details due to confidentiality agreements," while adding, "We are in discussions with major customers regarding supply volumes and prices, and negotiations are proceeding smoothly based on solid customer demand."
