Former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji-yong has belatedly revealed that he and his wife, family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im, have divorced.
Through his social media on the 29th, Ko confessed, "I divorced my wife two years ago," adding, "The reason I did not make it public until now was because I wanted to protect my son Seung-jae so that he could fully process the situation and grow up in a stable environment."
Ko continued, "The divorce was a decision made to respect each other's paths and fulfill our responsibilities as adults. Seung-jae understands our new relationship as parents and is currently doing well and feeling secure."
He also added, "I will continue to do my absolute best as a father, and although we have parted ways as a couple, we are supporting each other and getting along well. I wanted to share the truth through this post to prevent any misunderstandings that might arise in the future."
Meanwhile, Ko married family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im in December 2013 and welcomed their son Seung-jae, born in 2014. The family previously received much love from fans after appearing on the KBS2 variety show The Return of Superman.
