At around 8:50 PM last night (the 28th), a KTX train came to a halt near Suncheon Station in Jeollanam-do due to a disruption in power supply.
The train, which departed from Yeosu Expo Station and was bound for Yongsan Station, was reportedly carrying around 100 passengers.
Due to the sudden halt, passengers had to wait inside the train for nearly two hours before transferring to another train.
In addition, five KTX trains and two regular trains operating on the Jeolla Line were delayed by 20 minutes to an hour.
An official from Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) stated, "We believe the power supply was not functioning properly, and an initial response team was dispatched immediately to carry out repair work."
