Prosecutors have requested an arrest warrant for Cha Ga-won, CEO of entertainment agency One Hundred Label, on allegations of fraud involving tens of billions of won.
According to SBS reporting, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office filed for an arrest warrant against CEO Cha with the court today (July 28), following three applications submitted by the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
Previously, police applied for an arrest warrant for CEO Cha on June 15 and earlier this month under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (Fraud), but prosecutors returned both requests, asking for supplementation of the criminal charges.
After conducting supplementary investigations, the Financial Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency applied for the arrest warrant for CEO Cha for a third time last week, and prosecutors decided to file the warrant today.
CEO allegedly proposed a business utilizing intellectual property rights of celebrities managed by her agency to another company, received tens of billions of won in advance payments, and failed to carry out the actual business.
