It was confirmed through SBS reporting that the Korean National Police Agency, which is currently conducting an inspection into Senior Superintendent A of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency—a figure who worked in the Geoje region for over 30 years and allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct and personnel corruption, earning the moniker the "King of Geoje"—has placed former Geoje Police Station officials identified as A's accomplices on standby.
The Human Rights Investigation Division of the National Police Agency announced that the two former Geoje Police Station senior officials, pointed out as accomplices to Senior Superintendent A who faces allegations of sexually harassing a colleague, were placed on standby yesterday.
It was confirmed that they hold the ranks of senior superintendent and inspector, respectively.
Given that the National Police Agency has been intensively looking into Senior Superintendent A's alleged sexual misconduct since early this month, it is reported that there is a high possibility additional personnel could face suspension or standby status.
