The Goesan Police Station in North Chungcheong Province announced today (July 28) that it has arrested a man in his 50s, identified as A, for habitual drunk and unlicensed driving, and seized his vehicle.
A was caught by police while driving under the influence of alcohol on a road in Goesan-eup, Goesan-gun, at around 6:20 p.m. on July 23.
At the time, his blood alcohol concentration was well above the level for license revocation (0.08 percent or higher).
A is known to have a criminal record of 13 previous convictions for drunk driving and driving without a license.
It was revealed that he committed the latest offense during his probation period, having been sentenced to two years in prison with a three-year suspension for drunk driving in March 2024.
His license had already been revoked after he was caught driving while heavily intoxicated last month, and investigation revealed that he continued to drive without a license even while undergoing police questioning for that incident.
