People Power Party Floor Leader Chung Jeom-sik stated regarding the disciplinary action facing Representative Kwon Young-jin, who sparked a controversy for grabbing someone by the collar over committee assignments, that he "hopes for leniency."
Appearing on SBS Radio's Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show earlier today (the 28th), Floor Leader Chung addressed the initiation of disciplinary procedures against Representative Kwon, saying, "Representative Kwon officially visited my office to express his intent to apologize, and since I accepted it, my personal issues with the matter have all been resolved."
Floor Leader Chung continued, "He is a member of our floor caucus, so how could I possibly say that he should be expelled?" adding, "Since I accepted his apology, my personal stance is that I hope he receives leniency."
He also added, "While it is difficult for me to comment on that aspect now that the Ethics Committee has initiated disciplinary proceedings, if I am asked for my opinion as the victim, I intend to fully express my views."
