The film "Revival Man: The Red," starring actor Koo Kyo-hwan, has confirmed its theatrical release for September.
"Revival Man: The Red" tells the story of Seok-hwan (Koo Kyo-hwan), an unemployed job seeker whose only qualification is groundless self-confidence, who discovers that he has the ability to resurrect 72 hours after death, leading to a relentless and mysterious pursuit.
Following a series of box office hits starting with the film "If We," which drew 2.6 million moviegoers, and the 5.94 million-hit film "Colony," Koo Kyo-hwan is set to showcase a fresh transformation once again through "Revival Man: The Red."
Koo Kyo-hwan radiates cheerful energy in the role of Seok-hwan, a character who resurrects 72 hours after dying. In addition, Koo takes on his first full-scale action performance in "Revival Man: The Red," delivering exhilarating thrills with increasingly powerful action sequences as his resurrections continue. Furthermore, Shin Seung-ho, who left a strong impression in "Pilot," "Weak Hero," and "D.P.," Kang Ki-young, who has been beloved for his deeply human performances in every work, and Kim Sia, equipped with solid acting skills, join the cast to add a rich layer of entertainment.
The newly released poster reveals a side of Koo Kyo-hwan never seen before. Despite the scars covering his face and the bullet holes embedded in the wall behind him, Seok-hwan wears a profoundly relaxed expression, raising curiosity about his transformation from an ordinary job seeker into a resurrection-gifted being.
With "Revival Man" confirming its September release, this year's Chuseok holiday box office is expected to become a fierce battleground for Korean films, including "Tazza: Beelzebub's Song" and "Possible Love."
