The heartfelt stories and cinematic plot twists of young adults in their 20s and 30s who have overcome the pain of illness to search for love once again have been unveiled.
SBS's new dating reality show "My Remaining Romance", set to premiere on August 3, released its official 1st-episode trailer on its social media channels on July 27, filled with excitement, tears, and unexpected twists.
In the released video, the cast members begin with fluttering first encounters, describing each other as "elegant and cute," "clear," and "radiant," but the atmosphere quickly shifts. Cast members read aloud their untold diaries of battling illness, with statements such as, "I became a stage 4 cancer patient," "I had my entire stomach removed," and "I was told one of my legs might have to be amputated," plunging the studio into silence.
In particular, seeing the participants share their realistic worries and scars, asking, "Can I date? What about marriage?", MC Choi Ye-na deeply empathized and shed tears.
At the end of the trailer, in the "Room of Time"—the signature space of "My Remaining Romance"—a male participant drops a significant confession, saying, "Actually, I know that person. Will they remember me?" throwing the studio into shock. Surprised by a past connection between two people that even the production team did not anticipate, the MCs leaped from their seats in utter astonishment.
"My Remaining Romance" is a dating reality program where young adults in their 20s and 30s who have received terminal diagnoses or faced the brink of death confront life and love once again. It will premiere on Monday, August 3, at 10:00 PM.
