Yes, it is very hot.
The sun set a little while ago, but you can still feel the heat radiating off the asphalt, and the high humidity is keeping the oppressive, sticky heat going.
Seoul has experienced tropical nights for five consecutive days. Currently, heat wave warnings and tropical night advisories are in effect for most parts of the country.
According to statistical data released by the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of today, the nationwide average number of tropical night days this year stands at 7.1 days, recording the highest figure ever for the same period.
This is 1.2 days more than last year.
With Seoul currently seeing temperatures at 29°C (84°F) and high humidity lingering into the night preventing heat from escaping, tropical night phenomena—where the lowest temperatures stay above 25°C (77°F)—are expected across most regions.
Please keep your indoor temperatures cool using air conditioners or fans, and make sure to drink plenty of water before going to bed.
The sweltering heat is expected to continue day and night for the time being.
