A man in his 20s has been arrested by police for attempting to sexually assault a woman he did not know at a hotel restroom in Jeju.
The Jeju Western Police Station announced that it is currently investigating a man in his 20s, identified as A, on charges of attempted rape.
A is accused of following the victim into the women's restroom on the first floor of a hotel in Yeondong, Jeju, at around 4:00 PM yesterday (July 26).
According to the police investigation, A attempted to sexually assault the victim but failed.
A passerby who heard the victim's cries for help reported the incident to the police.
Police officers dispatched to the scene arrested A on the spot.
Police investigations revealed that A and the victim were complete strangers to one another.
The police have applied for an arrest warrant for A and are looking into the exact circumstances of the incident.
