Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on the 26th (local time) regarding the conditions for ending the war with Iran, "The war will end when the regime changes or is weakened enough to realize that it must halt its nuclear program and change its course."
In an interview with Fox News that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu made the remarks and added, "This is exactly what President Donald Trump wants to achieve, and I fully support his efforts."
As the leader of Israel, a direct party to the war with Iran that broke out on February 28 and a country highly sensitive to the Iranian threat, these comments are interpreted as implying that Iran's theocratic regime should be overthrown or its military capabilities completely devastated through even more powerful attacks. Prime Minister Netanyahu went on to say, "If he (Trump) can do it, if he can do it without an intense military clash, that is fine."
This appears to be a reaction to the United States pausing its military operations following 13 consecutive days of airstrikes on Iran, due to talks with Iran that have been underway since the 24th.
President Trump stated on the same day, "We are having serious talks with Iran, but if an agreement is not reached this time, we will take immediate military action."
Prime Minister Netanyahu also said, "However, in one way or another, they (Iran) must halt their nuclear program, and whether there is an agreement or not, that (nuclear) program must end."
