Water-related accidents occurred consecutively at beaches in Gangwon Province amid the scorching heat on Sunday.

According to the Coast Guard and fire authorities, at around 2:10 p.m. today, a 17-year-old identified as A and his younger brother, a 14-year-old identified as B, fell into the water at Hwajinpo Beach in Chodo-ri, Hyeonnae-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon Province.

Upon witnessing the incident, the brothers' father and two soldiers in their 50s attempted a rescue. While the brothers and the father safely made it back to the shore, the two soldiers were transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest.

Meanwhile, at around 4:00 p.m., a 26-year-old identified as C fell into the water while snorkeling near Gajin Port in Jugwang-myeon, Goseong-gun, and was transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest.
