Two military officers in their 50s who jumped into the sea to rescue teenage brothers from drowning at a beach in Goseong, Gangwon Province, have been transported to the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest.
At around 2:10 PM today (July 26), two brothers aged 17 and 14 fell into the water near Hwajinpo Beach in Hwan-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon Province.
In response, the children's father and two off-duty military officers in their 50s nearby jumped into the water to attempt a rescue.
While the children and their father made it safely ashore, the two military officers who carried out the rescue operations were transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest.
Around 3:30 PM today, a person in their 20s who was snorkeling near Gajin Port in Jukwang-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gangwon Province, was found in cardiac arrest and transferred to the hospital.
