A foreign national in their 30s has died after working in a field amid a heatwave.
At around 3:15 p.m. yesterday (July 25), a report was received by firefighters that A, a Thai national in their 30s, was found collapsed in Hwangsan-myeon, Haenam-gun, South Jeolla Province.
Emergency responders transported A, who was unconscious, to a nearby hospital, but they ultimately passed away.
Yesterday's daytime high in Haenam-gun reached 33.7°C (93°F), with a heatwave warning in effect.
Police believe A collapsed due to a heat-related illness and are investigating the exact circumstances of the death.
