▲ Fire at a food processing plant in Jincheon
A fire broke out at a food processing plant in Deoksan-myeon, Jincheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province, at around 1:40 PM today (July 25).
Emergency authorities dispatched 22 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, and around 60 personnel to the scene following reports of the fire. They brought the major blaze under control in about an hour and are currently working to extinguish remaining embers.
No casualties were reported as there were no workers inside the plant at the time, but one factory building spanning approximately 880 square meters was destroyed.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire and the scale of the damage once the fire is fully extinguished.
