President Lee Jae-myung, who has embarked on a tour of the United States and Latin America, has arrived in San Francisco, the first stop of his trip. Today, July 25, President Lee is scheduled to hold successive meetings with leaders of major AI big tech companies, including Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and subsequently announce the 'AI Declaration,' outlining South Korea's vision for the artificial intelligence industry.

Upon arriving in San Francisco, President Lee Jae-myung and the First Lady are greeted by officials from the San Francisco City Hall and South Korean Ambassador to the U.S. Kang Kyung-wha.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie presented President Lee with a home run ball hit by Lee Jung-hoo, who plays for Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants, and President Lee responded with a smile.
This marks President Lee's third visit to the U.S., following his attendance at the South Korea-U.S. summit last August and the UN General Assembly last September. This visit focuses on meeting American companies in Silicon Valley, the mecca of AI and advanced IT industries.
President Lee met with Dario Amodei, CEO of AI firm Anthropic, the developer of 'Claude,' and called for cooperation in the AI sector.

President Lee will also reunite with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whom he previously met at the APEC summit in Gyeongju last year. Afterward, he is scheduled to attend the 'San Francisco AI Summit' and announce the 'San Francisco AI Declaration,' which contains South Korea's commitment and vision for a leap forward in the AI industry.
The event will be attended by U.S. AI big tech CEOs, including Jensen Huang, as well as Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Euisun Chung, and Naver Board Chairman Hae-Jin Lee.
Through this U.S. visit, President Lee plans to focus on elevating cooperation between global U.S. AI big tech firms and South Korean companies to the next level.
