Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man in his 60s was found in a state of decomposition at an apartment in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Gimpo Police Station today (July 24), a report was filed by a family member at 10:44 a.m. yesterday, stating that a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, was found dead at an apartment in Gurae-dong, Gimpo.
Mr. A's family reportedly went to check on him after receiving a call from the apartment management office saying that delivery packages were piling up in front of his home, leading to the discovery of his body.
At the time of discovery, the body was heavily decomposed, and police noted that there were no signs of forced entry by an outsider.
Police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of Mr. A's death.
A police official stated, "It is difficult to estimate the exact time of death," adding, "While there appears to be no connection to foul play, we decided to request an autopsy while keeping all possibilities open."
