With only two episodes left until its finale, an unpredictable covert infiltration operation unfolds in "Mr. Kim".
On July 23, the production team of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Mr. Kim" (written by Nam Dae-jung, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun) raised anticipation ahead of the 9th episode airing on July 24 by releasing on-site stills capturing the drastic transformations of So Ji-sub (playing Mr. Kim), Choi Dae-hun (playing Sung Han-soo), and Yoon Kyung-ho (playing Park Jin-chul).
The previously broadcast 8th episode recorded 23.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area and a peak rating of 26.2% based on Nielsen Korea, breaking its own record for the highest viewership ratings among miniseries broadcast in 2026. It also ranked first in Netflix's global non-English TV show category for three consecutive weeks, proving its explosive box office success both domestically and internationally.
In the released photos, the three individuals disguise their identities in various ways to infiltrate enemy territory. First, Mr. Kim is dressed in a sleek black suit, revealing a sharp gaze that contrasts with his bruised face, reawakening his cold, legendary agent instincts.
On the other hand, Park Jin-chul is dressed in a chef's uniform and apron, perfectly disguised as a hotel chef, eliciting laughter as he nonchalantly raises his hand in front of security personnel with a relaxed attitude. Sung Han-soo is captured curled up tightly inside a cramped car trunk with an awkward expression, arousing curiosity about the tense situation they have encountered.
The production team stated, "Mr. Kim, Sung Han-soo, and Park Jin-chul will dive into a new operation while hiding their identities in their own ways," adding, "Amidst tense situations, the unique teamwork of the 'Dad Universe' will shine. Please look forward to the extraordinary performances the three of them will display."
Episode 9 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Mr. Kim," which will feature a life-risking final team play against a massive conspiracy, will air at 9:50 PM on Friday, July 24.
