According to SBS reporting, it was confirmed that the Financial Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has reapplied for an arrest warrant for Cha, who faces charges including fraud under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes.
Police previously requested arrest warrants for Cha twice last month, but prosecutors returned both requests, citing the need to supplement the construction of the criminal facts.
Cha is accused of proposing a business utilizing the intellectual property rights of celebrities signed to her entertainment agency to another company, receiving an advance payment in the 20 billion won range, and failing to actually carry out the business.
