Singer and former Apink member Jeong Eun-ji is returning with a new mini-album imbued with summer vibes, roughly six years after her last.
Her agency, Billions, officially announced her comeback for August 11 at 6:00 p.m. KST by releasing a coming-soon image for her fifth mini-album, "Summer, I," through its official social media channels on the 22nd.
The released coming-soon image features a vintage file index design paired with polaroid photos and handwritten notes, evoking an atmosphere that records memories of midsummer. In particular, a photo of hands reaching out over blue waves adds a refreshing yet nostalgic sensibility, raising anticipation for the summer stories the new album will tell.
"Summer, I" is Jeong's first solo album in about three years and nine months, following her remake album "log" released in November 2022. As a mini-album, it marks her return in approximately six years and one month since "Simple," which was released in July 2020, bringing welcome news to fans who have waited a long time for a new mini-album from her.
Jeong has steadily built her own unique musical world as a solo artist. Starting her solo career with her first mini-album "Dream" in 2016, she has received much love through releases like "空间", "Hyehwadong", and "Simple," showcasing her exceptional vocal prowess, warm tone, and delicate sensibility.
Last year, she released the digital single "It's My Birthday Today?", for which she participated in lyric writing and composition, and continued her musical activities this February by reinterpreting "Parrot," a beloved OST from the drama "Princess Hours," with her own emotional depth. Attention is now focused on what new musical colors she will display through this upcoming release.
Active not only as a singer but also as an actor, Jeong has expanded her scope by earning recognition for her stable acting skills in various works, including "Reply 1997," "Work Later, Drink Now," "Miss Night and Day," and "24y Health Club."
Meanwhile, following the release of her new album, Jeong is set to continue active musical promotions both domestically and internationally, including an appearance at her "HER VOICE" concert held at the Kaohsiung Arena in Taiwan on September 5.
