Nvidia has been revealed to hold a 9.3% stake in Nebius, a prominent European AI neocloud company.
Previously, Nvidia announced in March that it would invest $2 billion (approx. 3 trillion KRW) in Nebius, a Nasdaq-listed company.
In a joint statement at the time, the two companies announced plans to cooperate in areas such as AI infrastructure construction and management, inference, and AI factory design and support.
Nvidia also agreed to provide early access to its latest-generation accelerator systems to support Nebius's goal of building a capacity of 5 gigawatts (GW) or more by the end of 2030.
This equity investment is interpreted as part of Nvidia's strategic expansion from a graphics processing unit (GPU) chip seller to an AI infrastructure partner.
Analysts note that the move helps diversify data center revenue—previously concentrated among a small number of major clients like Amazon, Microsoft, Alphabet, and Meta Platforms—toward neoclouds through equity investments, while also ensuring that Nebius continues to rely on the Nvidia GPU-based stack.
Following the news of the stake, Nebius shares surged 18.8% on the New York Stock Exchange on the 21st.
Its stock price increase over the past 12 months approaches 250%.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Nebius is a leading European neocloud company providing AI computing infrastructure.
Neocloud refers to a GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) provider that supplies high-performance GPUs on a subscription basis as needed.
So far this year, Nebius has successively signed contracts with multiple big tech companies.
In March, it also signed a long-term contract with Meta worth up to $27 billion (40.014 trillion KRW).
