'HOPE' Sparks Box Office Frenzy in SCREENX and 4DX with Near 40% Seat Occupancy Rate

CGV's specialized formats, SCREENX and 4DX, are on a high-flying streak thanks to the box office success of the film "HOPE".

According to CGV, "HOPE", which was released on the 15th, recorded an occupancy rate approaching 40% in both SCREENX and 4DX during its opening week. This is more than double the average occupancy rate of this year's released films for each respective format.

The combined theater featuring both SCREENX and 4DX recorded an occupancy rate close to 50%, proving high audience preference. The film is also continuing its box office craze by surpassing 2 million moviegoers in just 5 days of release, breaking the record for the fastest 2 million milestone this year.

In "HOPE", SCREENX delivers an overwhelming sense of space as vast nature and dynamic chase scenes expand across a three-sided screen. In particular, the action sequences set against forests and roads fill the field of view and draw audiences directly into the space within the film.

In 4DX, motion chairs, wind, vibration, and various environmental effects vividly convey the speed and impact of car chases, horse chases, and gun action. In the combined SCREENX and 4DX theater, the expanded screen and multi-sensory effects blend together to offer an even more intense immersive experience.

Audience reactions are also enthusiastic. SCREENX viewers shared reactions such as, "The spatial sense of the forest chase scene was overwhelming", "The vast natural scenery unfolded across three screens, providing outstanding immersion", and "I could fully experience the scale of the film". 4DX viewers praised the synergy between the work and the format, commenting, "The speed of the car chase scene was vividly delivered", "Tension was doubled thanks to the motion chairs and environmental effects", and "I am glad I watched it in a special format because I could feel the realism".

Boo Kang-il, head of the content business division at CJ 4DPLEX, stated, "HOPE maximizes the strengths of SCREENX and 4DX through vast natural scenery, breath-taking chases, and action-packed scenes, delivering a differentiated viewing experience to audiences", and added, "We hope you will experience 'HOPE' with an overwhelming sense of immersion as if you stepped right into the scene inside the movie".
