A man in his 20s has turned himself in to the police after posting a message online threatening a stabbing attack against the National Pension Service (NPS).
The Jeonju Deokjin Police Station announced today (July 21) that they have booked the individual, identified as A (in his 20s), without detention and are currently investigating him on charges including making public threats.
A is accused of posting a message titled "A stabbing will happen at the National Pension Service today" on an online community around 12:46 p.m. on July 20.
Upon receiving the report, police were dispatched to the National Pension Service and the Fund Management Headquarters in Jeonbuk Innovation City to inspect the premises.
A, who turned himself in to the police around 6:00 p.m. the previous day, reportedly stated that he wrote the provocative post because he "wanted to get a reaction from people."
A police official stated, "As this is an ongoing investigation, it is difficult to confirm specific details."
