The film 'Train to Busan', which attracted 10 million viewers upon its release in 2016, is set to be re-released overseas to mark its 10th anniversary.
It will meet audiences in over 500 theaters in North America.
'Train to Busan' tells the story of passengers on a KTX train heading from Seoul to Busan who struggle to survive against a mysterious virus.
As it celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, the film will be re-released in a 4K remastered version, starting in the Philippines next month, followed by North America, Japan, and Italy.
Releases are also being planned in countries including Spain and Argentina.
Expectations are particularly high for the North American market, where the film will be available in 500 theaters, more than 10 times the number of screens from 10 years ago.
At the time of its initial release, 'Train to Busan' was invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the Cannes Film Festival, where it was recognized for its cinematic quality, and it drew 11.57 million viewers in South Korea alone.
