The Cheongju Sangdang Police Station announced on July 20 that it has booked two men in their 20s, including a suspect identified as A, without detention on charges of robbery resulting in bodily injury, and is currently investigating the case.
A and the other suspect are accused of assaulting a man in his 40s, identified as B, who was lying on the street while intoxicated, by punching him and stealing his mobile phone in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, at 2:50 a.m. on June 25.
As a result of the incident, B sustained injuries requiring four weeks of medical treatment.
Following a report from B, police launched an investigation and arrested the suspects, but their request for an arrest warrant was rejected by the court.
The police are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
