▲ The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's Sports Fair Play Committee meeting is being held at the Olympic Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on July 20. On this day, the committee is scheduled to review the six-month suspension imposed on the Pai Chai High School baseball team.
The Pai Chai High School baseball team, which sparked controversy after chanting slogans disparaging the May 18 Democratization Movement during a game, has had its suspension reduced following a re-examination by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's Sports Fair Play Committee (chaired by Lee Young-jin).
The committee announced today (July 20) that it held its 19th meeting at the Olympic Center and decided to reduce the six-month suspension previously imposed by the Korea Baseball Softball Association's Fair Play Committee to a one-month suspension.
As a result, the Pai Chai High School baseball team will be able to participate in the Phoenix Flag National High School Baseball Tournament, which begins on August 6.
