The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced today, July 20, that they will extend the joint inspection period for construction errors at the GTX Samseong Station section by four months, until November 20.
The joint government inspection team began investigating the safety management status, the appropriateness of the construction process, and the causes of construction errors at the GTX Samseong Station section, where missing steel reinforcements were discovered, in May.
The inspection team plans to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the safety of the entire structure by performing additional data research and steel reinforcement testing through November.
They also intend to review potential sanctions against the construction company and establish measures to prevent recurrence.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport stated, "We are extending the operation period of the inspection team to more thoroughly verify safety and analyze the causes," adding, "We will ensure the safety of the GTX Samseong Station section."
