A man in his 30s has been fined for assaulting a bar owner by pushing them and committing a bizarre act after being confronted for holding a hostess's hand.
The Changwon District Court announced on July 18 that Judge Park Ki-joo of the 3rd Criminal Division sentenced the man, identified as A, to a fine of 1 million won on charges of assault.
A was indicted for assaulting the bar owner, B, who is in their 20s, at an entertainment bar in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, at 12:15 a.m. on March 15. A pushed B multiple times with his shoulder and licked B's chin with his tongue.
Investigations revealed that A committed the act in a fit of rage after B confronted him for holding the hand of a hostess working at the establishment.
The court stated, "We took into account that the defendant admitted to the crime, is reflecting on his actions, and is a first-time offender."
