Level 2 Response Issued for Fire at Coupang Logistics Center in Incheon; 121 Evacuated

Fire authorities have upgraded the alert level in response to the fire at the Coupang logistics center in Incheon.

The fire department issued a Level 2 response at approximately 12:25 p.m. today (July 18) at the site of the fire at the Coupang logistics center in Seohae-gu, Seoknam-dong, Incheon.

Authorities had initially issued a Level 1 response at around 9:15 a.m. but upgraded the alert level after determining that the large area of the logistics center and the abundance of combustible materials would make extinguishing the fire time-consuming.

Currently, 219 personnel, including firefighters, and 79 pieces of equipment, such as pump trucks, have been deployed to extinguish the blaze.

While there have been no casualties reported so far, 121 people, including logistics center staff, have evacuated on their own.
