A crocodile was captured in Soyang Stream near Chang-dong, Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 11:27 a.m. today (July 18).
Firefighters, who were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report from a passerby stating that there appeared to be a pet crocodile, captured the 50cm-long reptile at around 12:06 p.m., about 30 minutes after their arrival.
The species of the crocodile and the circumstances surrounding how it ended up in the stream have not yet been confirmed.
The fire authorities plan to transfer the captured crocodile to the Yeoju City Hall on July 20.
