Traffic on all sections of Seoul's Dongbu Expressway, which had been completely blocked due to heavy rain overnight, has resumed after 5 hours.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government fully restricted traffic on the entire Dongbu Expressway at approximately 5:37 a.m. today (July 18) as the water level of Jungnang Stream rose, but reopened the road at 9:45 a.m., about 5 hours later.
With nearly 150mm of heavy rain falling overnight in some parts of the metropolitan area, traffic accidents on rain-slicked roads have also been reported in various locations.
Around 5:50 a.m. today, a truck overturned on a rain-slicked road near Banpo Hangang Park on the Olympic Expressway heading toward Hanam, causing traffic congestion. Additionally, a bus and a passenger car collided on a rain-slicked road in Gangneung this morning, leaving 4 people seriously injured.
