Today (July 17), Choi Min-seok faced three nerve-wracking situations but held firm without wavering.
He faced a no-out, runners on first and second situation in the first inning but struck out Park Min-woo and Blaine. In the fourth, with one out and the bases loaded, he extinguished the threat by inducing a flyout to right field from Kim Hwi-jip and a line drive to third base from Kim Han-byeol.
After escaping a two-out, runners on first and third jam in the sixth inning thanks to a great defensive play by left fielder Kim Min-seok, Choi finished his outing with 6 innings, 6 strikeouts, 5 hits, and no runs allowed. He lowered his league-leading ERA to 2.19.
As of the eighth inning, if Doosan, currently leading 2-1, holds on for the win, Choi will become the first player this season to reach the 10-win mark.

Third-place KT is aiming for a five-game winning streak against second-place LG.
Hilliard is putting on a one-man show, having hit a go-ahead grand slam in the third inning followed by a two-run homer in the fifth, accounting for 6 RBIs on his own.
KIA's Na Sung-bum, who has successfully rebounded this season, hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the third inning against SSG, becoming the 16th player in history to reach 300 career home runs.

Hanwha's rookie Lee Do-hoon, a former developmental player, scored a tying run against Kiwoom in the fourth inning after a chaotic sequence: he was on second base, rounded third on Kim Tae-yeon's RBI hit, stopped, tried to advance again, and slipped before finally reaching home plate.
