U.S. President Donald Trump claimed in a national address at 10:00 a.m. today (KST) that China interfered in the 2020 U.S. presidential election and illegally obtained large-scale voter data.
He stated that the leaked voter files contained sensitive information, including names, addresses, and phone numbers, and that the total number of leaked records reached 220 million.
However, U.S. media outlets, including The New York Times and CNN, which activated real-time fact-checking teams, reported that the voter files allegedly obtained by China were already public records and that no evidence has been found to support claims of actual election result manipulation.
