LG Twins foreign hitter Austin Dean hit his 28th home run of the season in the first game of the second half, taking sole possession of first place in that category.
Austin, starting as the third hitter and first baseman in the home game against kt wiz at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul today, launched a solo home run that landed in the left-field stands. He connected on a low pitch from kt left-handed starting pitcher Logan Allen with two outs and no runners on base in the first inning.
Austin, who finished the first half tied for the lead in home runs with Kim Do-yeong (KIA Tigers), has now pulled ahead once again. He also reached 84 RBIs for the season, trailing the leader Kang Baek-ho (Hanwha Eagles) by just one.
