The KBO's Kiwoom Heroes have reorganized the coaching staff for their Futures (minor league) team, Goyang Heroes, ahead of the second half of the regular season.
The club announced today that they have appointed Moon Sung-hyun, a veteran pitcher who played for the Heroes for a long time, as the new bullpen coach for the Goyang Heroes.
Moon, who joined the team in 2010 and pitched for the Heroes until 2024, will begin his coaching career with his former team, leveraging his deep understanding of the club and its players.
Changes have also been made to the roles of the existing coaching staff.
Defensive coach Yoo Jae-shin will now oversee both defense and baserunning, utilizing the baserunning skills that were his strength during his playing career, while strategy and baserunning coach Lee Byung-kyu will transition to the role of hitting coach.
Lee Myung-ki and Cho Bum-jun, who have been supporting Goyang Heroes training as senior field coordinators, have been appointed as assistant hitting coach and assistant pitching coach for the reserve squad, respectively, marking their debuts as official coaches.
The Kiwoom Heroes stated, "This reorganization focuses on ensuring the continuity of our development system by promoting internal personnel who have built strong trust with the players," adding, "We will provide meticulous support so that the Goyang Heroes players can continue to grow."
