People Power Party Representative Jang Dong-hyeok has continued to raise allegations for consecutive days that President Lee Jae-myung played golf while search operations were underway following the disappearance of a sailor on a Navy frigate on July 12.
During the Supreme Council meeting this morning, Representative Jang stated, "Allegations have been raised that while our Navy sailor was growing cold as a corpse in the East Sea, the President was swinging a golf club," adding, "The Blue House is avoiding an answer by claiming it was a private schedule."
He continued to demand further clarification from the Blue House, asking, "Are you saying that because the golf outing was a private schedule, it is difficult to disclose where, with whom, and at what time it took place, or are you saying he was engaged in a different private schedule?"
Representative Jang pointed out, "If it is difficult to reveal with whom, when, and where he played golf because it was a private schedule, you just need to confirm whether he played golf or not," and added, "It is correct that at the time our sailor was growing cold as a corpse, the President should have been holding a public meeting at the Blue House."
He then added, "I ask the citizens. Given this, isn't it clear that he played golf?"
Representative Jang further argued, "Considering the actions President Lee Jae-myung himself took as the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea when the Chae Su-geun Marine case occurred, isn't it appropriate for the President to be impeached?" He asserted, "If it is true that he played golf, it is clear grounds for impeachment."
