President Lee Jae-myung had a "kongguksu (cold soybean noodle soup) lunch" with staff at Cheong Wa Dae today (the 15th), marking Chobok, the first of the three hottest days of summer.
Kang Yu-jeong, Senior Presidential Spokesperson, stated, "President Lee held an encouraging lunch with staff at the Cheong Wa Dae cafeteria," adding, "Eight employees attended the event, including those from high-workload departments such as the National Crisis Management Center, the Office of the Secretary to the President for Autonomy and Development, and the Office of the Secretary to the President for Personnel, as well as staff who submitted excellent policy proposals to Cheong Wa Dae."
The lunch menu consisted of food prepared for Chobok, including kongguksu made with domestic wheat and soybeans, baechujeon (napa cabbage pancakes), yeolmu-kimchi (young summer radish kimchi), and watermelon.
After the lunch, President Lee visited the Cheong Wa Dae Chunchugwan to hold an impromptu meeting with the press, where he shared his views on various pending issues.
