President Lee Jae-myung begins receiving ministerial briefings today, July 15, for the second time since taking office. The briefings, held at the Blue House Yeongbingwan (State Guest House) under the theme "An Irreplaceable Republic of Korea Felt Through Daily Life," will be conducted over a total of nine sessions.
The briefings cover the Office for Government Policy Coordination, 19 ministries, 6 agencies, 18 administrations, and 7 commissions, as well as 140 public institutions.
During the events, President Lee plans to personally review the progress and achievements of national policy tasks since the first round of briefings held at the end of last year.
On this first day, the Ministry of Finance and Economy (including the National Tax Service, Korea Customs Service, and Public Procurement Service), the National Data Agency, the Financial Services Commission, and the Ministry of Planning and Budget will present their reports starting at 10:00 a.m. for approximately 100 minutes.
Tomorrow, the second day, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, along with their affiliated organizations, the Korea Communications Commission, the Personal Information Protection Commission, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will conduct their briefings.
Briefings for the remaining ministries will take place in early August.
A "Citizen Observer Group" of about 20 people will attend each session, and they are expected to listen to the reports from each agency and engage in open Q&A sessions.
