To mark the 3rd North Korean Defectors' Day, the North Korean Refugees Foundation has released a web drama depicting the growth of North and South Korean youth through their activities in a university startup club.

The North Korean Refugees Foundation held a production presentation for 'Start Hana' at KINTEX Exhibition Center II in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, this afternoon (July 14).

According to the foundation, the web drama is a campus youth series set in the university startup club 'Start Hana,' following the process of North and South Korean youth sharing their individual concerns regarding career paths and identity.

It is a 12-episode short-form series.

Actor Shin Yoon-je plays the role of 'Na Young-gwang,' a freshman contemplating his career, while North Korean defector actor Cha Wi-seong plays 'Oh Chang-yeop,' the president of the startup club.

Shin, who attended the production presentation, mentioned that he used the Pyongan dialect and shared his thoughts, saying, "I listened to recordings and followed along. I was able to overcome difficulties by seeking advice from Wi-seong, who is a North Korean defector."

'Start Hana' will begin with the release of its teaser trailer today on the foundation's official YouTube channel, 'Kind Mr. Hana.'

The OST music video will be released on July 17, and the first episode will premiere on July 31, with subsequent episodes to be uploaded every Friday at 2:00 PM.

Lee Ju-tae, Acting Chairman of the foundation, stated, "The North Korean Refugees Foundation is doing its best to provide education, employment, and startup support so that young North Korean defectors can realize their dreams."
