The Incheon Ganghwa Police Station announced today (July 14) that it has arrested and referred a man in his 40s, identified as A, to the prosecution on charges of cultivating marijuana, a controlled substance, in violation of the Narcotics Control Act.
A is accused of cultivating 30 marijuana plants in a rented building in Hwado-myeon, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, from May until recently.
He reportedly stated, "I rented the building to raise reptiles, but I began cultivating marijuana out of curiosity."
Police arrested A at the scene and seized 30 marijuana plants and 23 grams of marijuana seeds.
The police plan to send A's hair samples to the National Forensic Service to determine whether he has used the drug.
