SEVENTEEN member MINGYU has called for restraint, warning that disorderly behavior by some fans at airports could lead to safety accidents.
During a recent live broadcast, MINGYU shared his concerns while discussing a dangerous situation he encountered at an airport. He stated, "Lately, there has been no order at the airport. I was walking after getting off the plane, and there was an elderly person in front of me. If you don't look ahead, someone could really get hurt."
MINGYU continued, "Of course, I love seeing CARATs, and CARATs love seeing me. We have a relationship where we love each other so much. But for others to look at us kindly and acknowledge us, we have to do better. Yesterday, it was really bad, and someone almost got hurt. Wouldn't you be angry if people kept following you without looking ahead?"
He particularly emphasized that airports are not spaces used only by celebrities and their fans, and that they should not cause harm to general passengers.
"There are general passengers at the airport, aren't there? We need to respect those boundaries so that people can think, 'They look good, they look happy.' How much of a nuisance is it to scream and act disorderly at the airport?" he pointed out.
Previously, MINGYU was captured on camera asking fans who were filming him from too close a distance to keep their space, saying, "Please."
Beyond SEVENTEEN, conflicts between fans and crowds of photographers occur frequently at airports during celebrity arrivals and departures. This has led to concerns that the safety of general passengers and airport staff is being threatened. As airport congestion continues to be a recurring issue, there are ongoing calls for celebrities to use separate entrances.
